All trips require confidence in moving water, as opposed to swimming ability. This may vary depending on the trip and the water levels in the canyon on the day. Our half-day Queenstown trip is more suitable for lower levels of water confidence.
Our Queenstown trip is ideal for those who are new to canyoning. Our Routeburn trip is more challenging and suited to those who have previous experience in canyoning or similar outdoor pursuits.
Yes. If you really don’t want to do any of the elements once you are in the canyon we can provide alternative options. You can choose your level of challenge. Our guides can provide alternatives to make sure you are comfortable during the entire trip.
We don’t recommend you wear glasses in the canyon. Contact lenses are better but can still fall out. If you only have glasses, ensure you have a sports strap or tie and let your guide know before departure. Glasses are worn at clients risk.
All you need is your confidence in moving water. We also recommend that you bring a thermal layer (polypro or merino). We will provide all equipment including wetsuits, helmets, socks and booties. We recommend you do not bring any valuables with you. They can be stored at the Adventure Centre in Queenstown where your trip departs from.
Yes! However, you will be wearing a wetsuit, buoyancy aid and wetsuit booties. Canyoning is a perfect rainy day activity as you’re going to get wet anyway!
Traditional cameras are not permitted in the canyon for safety reasons.

Our climbing trips can be conducted in most weather conditions. We may cancel or modify any trips in the interest of safety.
A warm layer, water and sturdy, grippy footwear. We don’t suggest wearing rings as these may scratch on the metal rungs.
Valuables can be left at our Adventure Centre Base.
Yes it is possible. Any fall will be stopped by the via ferrata leashes which are attached to the steel cable. As long as you have followed instructions from your guide, you will be securely clipped in the entire climb. The via ferrata system is designed to reduce the probability of falling and to minimise the consequences should a fall occur.
Yes, if necessary, there are a number of exit routes available.
Please contact us if anyone weighs 40 kg or under so that we can assess suitability.

If you’re driving into Queenstown, there are many carparks around to choose from. Please click here for a map of parking in Queenstown. We recommend the Ballarat Street Carpark, located on the corner of Ballarat Street and Stanley Street.
Yes, you can leave your small items and valueables (passport, credit card, wallets, etc.) at the Adventure Centre where they will be locked away during your trip. We also have locked changing rooms at our base for canyoning trips where you can leave your backpacks, etc.
